ENDA HUGHES - Director "Casualty" (BBC)

Sophia trained as an actress at Rose Bruford College in London and in Tallinn at The Estonian Academy of Music and Dramatic Art where she graduated in voice studies and screen acting.

Sophia is most known for her role as Maria Kaufopolous in popular BBC drama Call The Midwife.

She works internationally and has steadily built a momentum of screen work in both UK and US markets. Notable credits include Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves (Paramount Pictures); Casualty (BBC); Tyrant (FOX); Assassin's Creed: Mirage (Ubisoft).

Sophia has also had a myriad of impressive theatre credits, making her West End debut in 15 Heroines alongside Gemma Whelan and Eleanor Tomlinson and was listed as the personal favourite in The Stage newspaper.  Her award-winning one woman play On Arriving was subsequently picked up and produced by Jermyn St Theatre in the heart of London's West End which received five star reviews and won Sophia an OFFIE.

Sophia is often noted for understated, earthy qualities in her work and has a leaning towards characters who can be complex and unhinged.
