Sophia is a Multi Award-Winning actress based in London and is most known for her role as Maria Kaufopolous in popular BBC drama "Call The Midwife".
Much of Sophia's acting training was at Rose Bruford College in London, later spanning over to Tallinn at The Estonian Academy of Music and Dramatic Art where Sophia graduated in screen acting and developed a special interest in mastering a more grounded, nuanced performance.
Sophia is often noted for her understated and authentic acting style and has a leaning towards characters who can be complex and at times, unhinged.
She continues to work internationally and has steadily built a momentum of screen work. Notable credits include; American television series "Tyrant" for FOX21, series regular in fantasy television pilot "Whatever After" alongside Jessica Brown Findlay, and, most recently, a much anticipated action-adventure feature for Paramount alongside Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez.
In 2020 Sophia went back to her theatre roots and made her West End debut in "15 Heroines" alongside Gemma Whelan and Eleanor Tomlinson and was listed as the personal favourite in The Stage newspaper. Her award-winning one woman play "On Arriving" was subsequently picked up and produced by Jermyn St Theatre in the heart of London's West End which received five star reviews and won Sophia an OFFIE.
Sophia is also a sound designer for theatre, for which she has won two OFFIE awards, and was previously a shortlisted composer for the Old Vic 12.
